Sources of Strength

Increasing connection and spreading positive messaging throughout teens' social networks

Sources of Strength is an evidence-based, suicide-prevention program designed to build socioecological protective influences around youth and reduce the likelihood that vulnerable young adults will become suicidal. The program works by harnessing teen relationships to increase connection and spread positive messaging throughout their social networks.

Students who participate in Sources of Strength are four times more likely to report themselves or someone else in trouble. Our middle and high school peer leaders, with the help of their trusted adult advisors, create positive messaging campaigns that ultimately reduce suicide in the community. Sources of Strength kicks off with an exciting training at your school, synagogue or group and gives youth the tools to connect to hope, help and strength.
