Mourning a loss is an experience everyone will have at some point in their lives.  

The experiences of grief can be challenging. Alexander Jewish Family Service is here to support you after any significant loss in your life. Whether a death, a divorce, a significant job change or the impact of a tragedy in the community such as a hurricane, Alexander JFS offers a wide range of counseling for bereavement support.

Alexander JFS also offers in-home visitation after a tragedy such as death by suicide, substance misuse or other mental health fatality.  We offer a bereavement guide addressing the complex needs of family, friends and colleagues who have lost someone to death by suicide or overdose. We also are available to speak to schools or community organizations that have experienced a loss in their community.

Adult Counseling

Ages 18+

We provide a safe and supportive environment with licensed mental health professionals to assist adults, couples and families with improving their overall well-being.

Children & Teen Counseling

Ages 3-17

We provide a safe and positive setting with licensed professionals to assist children and their families work towards improving their lives.

Grief Support Group

Ages 18+

This weekly support group is open to adults that have experienced the loss of a loved one. The peer support group is facilitated by the Alexander JFS clinical staff and will be held online using the Zoom platform. The group is intended to support, educate, and develop ways to cope with the normal responses to grief.
