Bringing Spiritual Support and Healing to Seniors in Our Community

There is increasing scientific evidence that music has emotional, psychological and even physical benefits for isolated seniors, whether still living independently or in a facility. Alexander JFS is pleased to add this service to assure seniors they are not forgotten by the Houston Jewish Community.

The Music and Spirit Program Provides:

Concerts

Featuring Cantor Vadim Tunitsky and Pianist Yanina Didyk

Through the beautiful music of Cantor Vadim Tunitsky, the Music & Spirit Program adds personalized musical outreach to seniors in 6 assisted living facilities and nursing homes as well as to homebound seniors or those recovering from illness.

Through the Cantor's personal visits, performances accompanied by the talented pianist Yanina Didyk, and one-one-one conversations, The Music & Spirit Program helps seniors who are not otherwise receiving communal services.

Our Impact

The Music & Spirit Program annually reaches an audience of over 2,500 seniors. In 2025, Cantor Tunitsky performed 80 concerts at assisted living or nursing homes and led 60 weekly Shabbat services throughout the city.

Cantor Tunitsky also provided personal visits to over 250 seniors annually with music and spiritual counseling.

Heart Full of Love Concert

An annual concert performed by Cantor Vadim Tunitsky honoring a person, group, or organization who has show exceptional support of the Jewish Community.
