February is Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance, and Inclusion Month (JDAIM). Join Alexander Jewish Family Service in a unified initiative to raise disability awareness and support efforts to foster inclusion in the Houston Jewish community. Advocacy is a key part of raising awareness and inclusion for those with a disability.

Each year, Alexander JFS proudly participates in ReelAbilities Houston Film & Arts Festival, a month-long celebration produced by the JFS Houston Alexander Institute for Inclusion in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities. Through film, art, and music, ReelAbilities uses creativity as a powerful vehicle to promote inclusion and elevate the lived experiences of people with disabilities. More than 3,000 Houstonians attend art, film, and music events featuring the lives, stories and talents of people with disabilities.

Beyond JDAIM, Alexander JFS Disability Services empowers individuals with disabilities, along with their families and caregivers, through affordable, high-quality professional services, education, advocacy, and inclusive opportunities tailored to diverse needs.

Our commitment to meaningful employment includes Celebration Company, which provides vocational training and paid work experiences for adults with disabilities at two locations in Central Houston and Katy. Through purposeful work and creative enterprise, participants build skills, confidence, and independence.

This February, and all year long, we invite you to learn, participate, and advocate alongside us. Together, we can ensure our community is one where inclusion isn’t an initiative, it’s a shared value lived every day.
