Job Purpose:

The Development Coordinator supports the planning and execution of donor stewardship, fundraising, and community engagement activities for the organization. This role is responsible for coordinating donor communications, maintaining fundraising and volunteer records, supporting campaigns and events, and helping cultivate meaningful relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to advancing the organization’s mission through thoughtful stewardship and strong administrative support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Donor Stewardship & Relations
  • Coordinate donor acknowledgment and stewardship processes, including thank-you letters, tribute notifications, and impact communications
  • Maintain accurate donor and volunteer records in the organization’s database
  • Assist in implementing donor recognition and engagement strategies
  • Support preparation of donor reports, correspondence, and stewardship materials
  • Help coordinate donor meetings, tours, and engagement opportunities
Fundraising & Campaign Support
  • Support annual giving campaigns, sponsorship efforts, and special fundraising initiatives
  • Update organization donation forms, both printed and digital, as needed
  • Support funding documentation as needed
Event Coordination
  • Assist with planning and execution of fundraising events, donor gatherings, and community programs
  • Support Auction logistics and event communications
  • Coordinate with staff and volunteers to ensure successful event operations
  • Organization/Implementation
Fundraising & Campaign Support
  • Administration & Database Support
  • Assist with the generation of donor acknowledgments
  • Ensure data integrity and confidentiality of donor information
  • Prepare Tribute, Condolence, and Thinking of You Cards
  • Manage information between Volunteer and CRM systems
  • Provide administrative support to the Development team as needed
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and use of customer service/donor database
  • Ability to run reports, create charts and graphs that illustrate important data in a clear way
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’sdegree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 2–4years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, event coordination,or administrative support preferred
  • Strongwritten and verbal communication skills
  • Excellentorganizational skills and attention to detail
  • Abilityto manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite and donor database/CRM systems (I.e. Raiser’s Edge)
  • Abilityto work collaboratively with donors, volunteers, staff, and communitystakeholders
  • Ability towork successfully in a fast-paced positive team environment while managingmultiple projects; displays flexibility through multiple revisions and changingpriorities, while maintaining project timelines and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated,professional, detail oriented, and excellent time management skills

Additional Preferred skills: 

  • Constant Contact, Formstack, and Monday.com.
Working conditions
  • This is an on-site full-time position. A small percentage of remote work may be permitted after the first year of employment
  • Some evening or weekend hours required for event support
  • This position requires positive interaction with the development/marketing team and refined customer service skills in servicing the various departments of the agency.

Physical requirements

Must be able to meet routine office physical demands, including lifting up to 15-pound objects and possessing the dexterity and vision to operate office computers.
