Someone shared with me a quote about how we all are on the same ocean but in separate boats. She was referring to how we all are experiencing this pandemic together, yet still, separately, we struggle finding balance to this “new normal,” and dealing with the negative impacts of isolation, increased anxiety, loss and more.

Your struggle may not look exactly the same as mine, but suffering from life experiences is what can connect us if we each learn how to train our eyes to see through the lens of compassion. Compassion means to “suffer together with,” and it is a lot like empathy, which is understood that, even if I didn’t go through exactly your life experiences, I have the ability to understand and be there for you.
